VN3924 - APS 2 Night Attendant, Allambie Heights Sydney NSW (Non-ongoing, Part-time)

Salary: $54,306 – $54,690 pa (pro-rated for part-time) plus 15.4% superannuation

Employment Type: Non-ongoing - Part Time, 53.75 hours per fortnight

Note: Non-ongoing opportunity available until 5 July 2024, with the possibility of an extension.

Note: staff may be asked to work up to 2 weeks in total during the school holidays to undertake training, relief work, and hostel preparation for new term or hostel closedown

AHL is looking for experienced Night Attendant who is highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about delivering quality services to our residents. Our Night Attendants keep our residents safe at night by patrolling our hostels, managing resident queries and providing our one point of contact for the hostel.

The key duties of the position include:

Under the general direction of the Head of Boarding and/or Deputy Head of Boarding, provide high quality care and support within a residential setting to First Nations students. As a Night Attendant your duties and responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

Manage the night security of the hostel in accordance with AHL’s policies and relevant legislation, including:

• Maintain the security of premises, monitor premises to preserve order and protect property 
• Monitor and authorise entrance and departure of residents, staff and visitors
• Respond to emergencies

Undertake administrative tasks:

• Write reports on daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.

Undertake general domestic duties:

• Perform other general cleaning duties to ensure hostel grounds, gardens, windows, and the property are kept clean, tidy and clear for residents.
• Ensure rooms are ready for housekeeping the following day
• Clean amenity areas.

Essential Qualifications and Training (or ability to obtain in the first six months of employment)

• First Aid Certificate
• Emergency Warden

Eligibility:

• Be an Australian Citizen
• Undergo a Satisfactory National Criminal History Check (prior to engagement)
• Meet Fitness for Duty requirements (prior to engagement)
• Hold and maintain a Working with Children Check in NSW (prior to engagement)
• Hold or obtain relevant qualifications.
