- Full time 18 month contract based in Adelaide

- Salary range $120,922 to $134,247 (plus 15.4% Super) 

 

The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the ATSI Act and subject to the PGPA Act. The ILSC assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to realise economic, social, cultural, and environmental benefits that the ownership and management of land, water and water related rights can bring. The ILSC provides this assistance through the acquisition and management of rights and interests in land, salt water and freshwater country.

 

The Engagement and Communications Unit sits within the Policy, Strategy and Performance Directorate and is responsible for managing internal and external communications and media functions. Team responsibilities include internal and external communications; branding; media relations; and provision of advice to the ILSC Board and executives on the promotion and protection of the ILSC brand and reputation.

 

The ILSC is seeking a proactive Senior Media and Communications Advisor to coordinate, lead and deliver a wide range of external communications materials to support the ILSC’s media and public relations activities. This role will also support the Strategic Communications Manager in coordinating the ILSC’s media activities including content development.

 

Reporting to the Strategic Communications Manager, you will:

 

·        Influence and shape the ILSC brand through effective and engaging media management and communications advice.

·        Be a storyteller - develop media releases, speeches, pitches, and talking points.

·        Develop external communications activities in line with business strategy, and deliver initiatives promoting the ILSC purpose, performance and partnerships.

·        Coordinate the development of content across internal and external communication platforms, including media and corporate collateral.

·        Facilitate co-operative partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders which support the ILSC’s media, promotional and communication objectives.

·        Support and foster relationships with external partners to seek sponsorship opportunities for the ILSC, aligned to the ILSC sponsorship policy.

·        Provide advice on the promotion of media opportunities and key messaging around ILSC projects and initiatives.

·        Provide copywriting, contribute to content creation and provide written support where required i.e. Ministerial Briefings, Board Reporting, and occasional GCEO Reporting (internal communications).
