A well-known Federal Government organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Assessment Officer with External Financial Audit experience for their Quality and Support Programme.
Your new role
- Actively monitor the department's providers showing signs of financial risk by conducting audits.
- Conduct risk assessments of the department's providers in line with the Financial Viability Risk Assessment Requirements Instrument 2021.
- Prepare financial analysis reports that offer well-reasoned advice on department providers at financial risk, ensuring the analyses include recommendations and next steps.
- Contribute to initiatives that help the department's providers identify and implement strategies to enhance their financial performance.
- Participate in process improvements, including contributing to revisions of departments' approach to assessing the departments' provider's financial viability and conduct, and preparing work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and engage in peer-reviewing financial analysis reports.
- Support the Assistant Director, Financial Viability by identifying and escalating risks and emerging issues promptly.
What you'll need to succeed
- Baseline Security Clearance would be beneficial but is not essential. If you don't hold a baseline security clearance, you must be willing to obtain it at the expense of the client.
- Must be an Australian Citizen due to this being the Federal Government.
- Experienced conducting financial viability / external audit analyses and presenting findings in reports that are easily understandable by diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in interpreting and applying legislation to assess the departments 'providers' compliance with regulatory obligations.
- Capability to work independently with minimal guidance, delivering high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines.
- Stakeholder engagement skills that demonstrate the ability to build professional relationships both within the department and its providers and other government agencies.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Professional qualifications like CPA or CA are highly desired.
- Experience working in a compliance and regulatory environment is required.
