Your new role
As an Operational Maintenance Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure of our community. Your responsibilities will include delivering highly skilled and complex operational maintenance services across civil, marine, and vegetation assets. You will work under limited supervision to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently, effectively, and in line with Council Service Level Agreements and standards.
You will provide accurate technical advice and support to both internal and external customers, ensuring that maintenance services are delivered to the highest standards. Your role will also involve adhering to Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Protection requirements, proactively identifying and reporting any potential hazards.
In addition, you will be responsible for the correct application, use, and maintenance of a broad range of plant, tools, and equipment. Effective communication and teamwork will be essential as you collaborate with colleagues and engage with the community to achieve positive outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven Experience:
Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality operational maintenance services efficiently and effectively, particularly in civil and vegetation infrastructure. - Physical Fitness:
Capability to perform strenuous labouring tasks for extended periods. - Safety Awareness:
Strong knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety practices, with the ability to identify and address potential hazards. - Teamwork Skills:
Ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve common goals. - Technical Proficiency:
Expertise in using and maintaining a variety of maintenance equipment and tools. - Customer Service:
Commitment to providing excellent service to both internal and external customers. - Mandatory Qualifications:
- Criminal History check prior to appointment.
- Current Class 'C' Driving Licence.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- MR Licence & plant operator tickets or HR licence.
- Cert II or III in Civil Construction or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the relevant field.
