Your new role
Our client is currently seeking a highly motivated Operations Engineer to join our dynamic and motivated technical services team at their mine, which is situated 250km from Mackay. The key duties for this role are:
- Manage, develop and communicate the detailed weekly mine plan aligned to the requirements of two-weekly and 90-day plans.
- Lead the short-term design process to generate appropriate plans for Dragline, Excavators and Hauling Operation optimisation.
- Provide short-term mine planning, design and optimisation solutions.
- Provide technical support for mining projects across the organisation as required.
- Support the engineering, environmental and geological aspects of projects as required.
- Provide Drill and blast design and review, analysis and optimisation solutions.
- Monitor Dragline, Excavator and Dozer Push compliance and performance to target.
- Provide weekly reconciliation updates to design adherence and mine production in accordance with the mine plan.
- Validate daily production volumes in the reporting system.
- Provide pit monitoring and optimisation analysis for the site.
- Pilot UAV to gather footage and photographs of the mine site.
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant Mining Degree Qualification with 5+ post-grad open cut mining experience
- Experience within operations; preferably with exposure to large-scale opencut coal mining operations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interpret and articulate technical information.
- Strong understanding and capability in industry software applications is essential, particularly Spry and Deswik.
