The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.
About the role
We are seeking a values-drivenClient Services Coordinatorto oversee and lead the delivery of Upton Rd’s 24/7 youth refuge, ensuring holistic andhigh-quality services to residents with complex needs. The rolesits within the Salvation Army Youth Services – Upton Rd leadership teamimplement the Journey to Independence Model for youth services clients across Melbourne's Inner Middle South region.
Reporting to theProgram Manager this is aFull-time, Permanent , working a 9 day fortnight. Roster structure includes a mix of 8am-5pm and 11am-8pm shifts. Further details of roster and a copy of the PD can be provided to interested applicants. This position is located inSt Kilda ,Victoria.
You will have
- Experience working in the youth homelessness sector.
- Strong understanding of refuge/residential service provision
- Strong understanding of Psychologically Informed Environments and Trauma Informed Care.
- Demonstrated experience in the management and leadership of staff
- Knowledge of the legislative requirements when working with at risk young people, including Child Safety Standards.
- Excellent organization and administrative skills with capacity to balance workload and determine priorities while also addressing the needs of a crisis accommodation environment
- Strong verbal and communication skills
You will have
- Degree qualification in social work, social sciences or related field is required
- Strong understanding of refuge/residential service provision
- A national police record check is required

- Flexibility: The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Working With Children Check
