About the role
As a Youth Support Worker in our Youth Justice Community Support Services (YJCSS) team, you’ll work hands-on with young people navigating the justice system, helping them reclaim control over their futures providing case support and outreach to young people within the Justice Programs. In partnership with the Youth Justice Department, families, schools, and community services, you’ll support the delivery of case plans designed to break cycles and build brighter paths.

Reporting to the Youth Justice Client Services Coordinator, this is a permanent part-time postion 30.4 hours per week, based in either Shepparton OR Wodonga VIC.
Conditions
Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 4.
You will successfully
- Provide personalised, strengths-based support to young people through TSA’s model of care
- Help young people access education, housing, health services, employment, and cultural connections
- Mentor young people to build life skills, confidence, and community – including after-hours support
- Work closely with families, schools, courts, police, and service providers to advocate for young people
- Keep accurate case notes and contribute to service improvement through data and feedback
- Build genuine, trusting relationships that empower young people to reach their goals
- Champion child safety and uphold TSA values in every interaction
What you will bring
You are someone who brings empathy, initiative, and resilience to everything you do. You hold a Diploma or tertiary qualification in social work, welfare, or a related field and have experience working with young people, ideally in the justice or community sector.
- Diploma/ Tertiary qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field
- Relevant experience in a social service environment preferably the youth sector
- Understanding complex challenges young people face
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and maintain boundaries while building rapport
- Committment to integrity, compassion, and respect
- A Current Victorian Working with Children Check
- A Current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence
