About the role
As a SCADA Project Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, planning, and delivering advanced operational technology. Your role will involve performing compliance checks to ensure SCADA systems meet rigorous standards and performance benchmarks. You will also assist in evaluating SCADA technologies and developing strategic standards. Managing technical activities, including site audits and commissioning programs, will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will provide expert consulting advice and support to clients and contractors on all technical aspects of SCADA. Key Responsibilities include :
Project Management
Manage delivery of projects to time, cost, and quality standards.
Assist in preparing and maintaining detailed plans for project management.
Prepare and utilize project reporting processes to meet business requirements.
Technical Investigations
Prepare detailed investigation reports on SCADA engineering aspects.
Conduct site investigations and audits.
Define project scopes and provide technical/commercial inputs to business case preparation.
Customer Requirements
Assist customers in defining their requirements for SCADA technology.
Ensure customer requirements are accurately reflected in the installed technology.
Documentation and Compliance
Prepare technical specifications and contract documents.
Review design drawings to ensure compliance with electrical, communications codes, and SWC’s SCADA Standards/Instrumentation Technical Specification.
Participate in the review and update of SWC SCADA Standards/Instrumentation Technical Specification as required.
Technical Support
Provide technical support and advice relevant to the project.
Facilitate resolution of technical issues related to instrumentation & automation technology through hands-on troubleshooting.
Liaise with vendors and developers.
Environmental and Quality Standards
Ensure all team tasks are performed in accordance with the QMS.
Ensure work practices are consistent with Sydney Water's Environmental Plan.

About the candidate
Recognised four (4) year degree or equivalent qualification in areas such as (but not limited to) Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Control Engineering
Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in the review, functional testing & commissioning of control software and SCADA Configuration for water, recycled and wastewater systems.
Proven ability in design, operation and maintenance of process control SCADA or telemetry systems.
Working knowledge of operation water and wastewater systems relating to treatment plants.
