Salary Range: $1,075 - $1,227 per 38 hour week + superannuation
Are you passionate about water safety, community service, and love working outdoors?
We’re offering a structured traineeship for a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Pool Superintendent. In this hands-on role, you’ll be trained in the day-to-day operations of Council’s public swimming pools, gaining experience in water quality monitoring, plant and equipment maintenance, safety compliance, lifeguarding, and customer service. As part of this 2 year traineeship, you’ll also work towards completing a nationally recognised Certificate IV in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation, supported by practical experience and mentoring on the job.
You’ll be part of a close-knit team responsible for keeping our community’s aquatic facilities clean, safe, and welcoming. Under supervision, you’ll assist with pool opening and closing, ensure compliance with health regulations through regular water testing, and learn to operate chemical dosing and filtration systems. During the swimming season, you’ll undertake lifeguard duties and help deliver aquatic programs and community events, contributing to a safe and inclusive environment for patrons of all ages. From maintaining high standards of cleanliness to providing high quality customer service and lifeguard duties, every day will offer variety, responsibility, and room to grow.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a team-focused attitude, and the physical fitness to take on an active, outdoor role. You’ll need to have completed Year 12 (or Year 10 with two years of workforce experience), hold a valid Working with Children Check, and be willing to obtain First Aid, CPR, and lifeguard certifications if you don’t already have them. A strong interest in aquatic facility operations, a commitment to safety, and the flexibility to work weekends and school holidays will help you thrive in this rewarding role.
