About the role:
As the City’s Senior Procurement Officer, you’ll work on critical procurement activities and provide robust contract management advice to ensure compliance and delivery of quality services that benefit our diverse and growing community.
Importantly, you’ll be a trusted advisor that collaborates across business areas and drives detailed procurement planning, sourcing, tendering and contract management.

What you’ll be doing in the role:
- Providing advice and guidance to stakeholders on best practice procurement planning, contract development, and compliance
- Developing and managing complex material contracts in alignment with legislation, policies, and procedures (as well as associated contract negotiations)
- Ensuring robust contract performance indicators, process improvement, and value-for-money outcomes
- Facilitating tender evaluations and the preparation of tender evaluation reports
- Educating and training internal stakeholders on best practice procurement and contract management
- Preparing and delivering research and reports on procurement and contract management matters
About you and what we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in procurement, contract development and management (ideally within government or highly regulated industries)
- Strong understanding of procurement legislation, probity principles, and tendering processes (knowledge of State and/or Local government procurement policies will be highly regarded)
- Proven negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to consult confidently with senior stakeholders
- A detail-oriented approach that balances risk, compliance, and service delivery outcomes
- Able to build positive relationships across the organisation and educate stakeholders on best practice procurement and contract management
- Strong report writing, research and analytical skills
- Ideally, relevant qualifications in procurement, business, or contract management
- Able to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance (less than 6 months old)
