Your
Position:
As the Development
Enquiry Officer you will be the initial point of contact for customers in
relation to the lodgment of Development and Building Applications and an
enquiry service for matters associated with land use and development.
Your
responsibilities will include but not be limited to:-
- Guiding the community and applicants through the end to end development process.
- Reviewing for adequacy and assist with lodgements of applications and referrals
through the through the NSW Planning Portal, Major Projects portal and
Pre-DA service.
- Assisting with the running and operation of local Panels as required.
- Providing quality, accurate and timely advice to customers to respond to development
enquiries.
- Assisting Council’s Compliance team with investigation of unauthorised uses or
works.
- Providing statistical and other information to the Manager City Development relating
to Development Applications, Certificates and other matters as required.
- Identifying
and resolving issues in a timely manner to provide quality services and a
positive customer experience, given competing priorities and expectations.
To be
successful in this role you will have:-
- A
degree or enrolled in final stages of a degree in Urban or City Planning
or equivalent.
- A
working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979
and subordinate legislation.
- Knowledge
of the functions and operations of the NSW Planning Portal.
- Excellent
report writing, oral communication skills and customer service skills.
Key
Requirements:
- Current
NSW Driver's Licence.
- NSW
General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Be willing to undertake
pre-employment screening, including a pre-employment medical and/or police
check.
