About the Role
Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Property Officer to provide expert advice and manage complex property matters across Council's diverse land portfolio. This is a key role within the Property Services team, offering the opportunity to lead, influence, and contribute to strategic land management outcomes for the community. As the Senior Property Officer, you will:
- Deliver specialist advice on property acquisitions, disposals, easements, road closures, Crown land, and leases/licences.
- Act as Council's Native Title Manager and provide guidance on related legislative matters.
- Lead stakeholder engagement across internal teams, government agencies, and the public.
- Mentor and support team members to build internal capability and succession planning.
- Represent the Property Services Manager when required and contribute to strategic planning.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.
About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:
- Recognised tertiary qualifications in the Property field i.e., Property Valuation, Property Management, Property Law, Conveyancing, or another related course and/or equivalent experience and related skills.
- Approved training or qualifications to satisfy State Government requirements including Native Title Manager under the Crown Land Management Act 2016, (or ability to obtain soon after appointment) and the ability to complete similar qualifications/training as statutory requirements evolve.
- Extensive experience in all aspects of local government property management and property dealings.
- Strong practical knowledge of relevant provisions of the Local Government Act, Roads Act, Crown Land Management Act, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and Native Title Legislation
- Class C Driver's Licence
- Proof of right to work in Australia
