a challenge and getting your hands dirty. Water & Sewer Operators carry out manual tasks
associated with the installation, operation and maintenance of water supply and
sewerage systems and facilities to ensure the delivery of safe and healthy
water supply and sewerage services that are critical to our community’s health
and environmental sustainability. What You can offer Working with experienced Water and Sewer Operators and Water and Sewer Technical Leads who will
mentor you through:
- Carrying
out construction and maintenance works on water supply and wastewater
mains
- Installing,
repairing, and maintaining water supply and wastewater services and
related infrastructure
- Undertaking
excavation and site preparation works safely and efficiently
- Responding
to water main breaks and assisting with emergency repairs
- Maintaining
plant, tools, and equipment in good working order
- Representing
Council professionally when working within the community
What We can offer The salary range being offered for this full-time position is $2,268.10 - $2,536.90 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $58,970.60 - $65,959.40 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience). - Mudgee Based Role (Working in other areas of the LGA as required)
- An Hourly rate starting at $29.84 - $33.38 (with annual performance reviews and annual Award increases)
- Plus Adverse Working Conditions allowance of $100.86 per fortnight is also applicable
- Plus 12% superannuation (as at November 2025)
- Plus On-call allowance and overtime after a qualifying and training period
- 9-day fortnight and long service leave after 5 years
To be successful in this role you will have: - Current Class C Drivers Licence
- School Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Experience in manual labouring work
- Commitment and ability to carry out rostered duties (including shifts on weekends and outside of normal business hours) for essential operation and maintenance of water supply and sewerage systems.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant WHS training.
