Council owns and operates the Cobar Shire & TAFE Library, Great Cobar Museum and Visitor Information Centre, Lilliane Brady Village (residential aged care facility), Children's Services, Youth & Community Centre as well as works depots in Cobar and Euabalong.

Our Early Learning Centre (ELC) has been architecturally designed specifically to exceed best practice industry standards, which opened in October 2024, with the licensed capacity to accommodate up to 80 children.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking experienced, enthusiastic, kind, and caring Educators to deliver outstanding education and care for the children at our long daycare service.
Candidates will need to be suitably qualified and passionate about early childhood education and play based learning, with a commitment to bringing that learning to life through programs that inspire the children in our care to reach their full potential. We are looking for team players who brings their best selves to work and build positive relationships with the children and families to create a safe, fun, inviting, and nurturing learning environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Lead Educator of each room, our educators are responsible for implementing an innovative play based learning program, documenting the children's learning journey, and ensuring the room operates efficiently and in accordance with the required standards, legislation, and regulations.
The Early Learning Centre (affectionately known as the ELC) currently has three rooms - infants (6mths-2yrs), toddlers (2-3yrs), and preschool (3-5yrs). Our new service has allowed us to offer a significant number of additional placements for families within our community, but there is still a strong demand, so we need to keep growing - and to open our next room, we need to find the right team.
Cobar Shire Council is committed to the safety and well-being of children and young people. All applicants will undergo background checks, including working with children checks, reference checking, and must comply with our child protection policies to ensure a safe environment for all.
These positions will provide daily lunch coverage for all age group, working a minimum of 19 hours a week during school hours. Candidates will ideally hold a Certificate III qualification (minimum(, but we will also consider applications from those working towards their qualification.
Working towards Certificate III - $29.09/hr; Certificate III $32.10/hr; Diploma - $37.16/hr + our service pays the workforce retention allowance!!
