Position Overview
The Technical Officer - Facility Maintenance plays a crucial role in supporting the Coordinator and various stakeholders by managing maintenance activities, overseeing defect repairs, and conducting compliance inspections on Council's numerous assets. These assets encompass HVAC systems, fire control systems, lifts, plumbing, and more.
This position involves utilising request management and EAM dashboards to schedule daily work, monitor outputs, and supervise contractor performance. The Technical Officer will ensure adherence to safety and legislative requirements while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centric service delivery.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in facility maintenance and management. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Trade Certificate (Cert 3) in a relevant trade (Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry).
- Current Drivers Licence and Construction Industry Certificate (White Card).
- Demonstrated supervisory experience in managing maintenance services and contracts.
- Proficient in using programs such as Excel, Word, and MS Projects.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Cert IV and/or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Building Studies, or Project Management will be highly regarded.
