Your Position:
The City Strategy Directorate shapes a better urban future
by designing active, high‑quality and safe places for everyone. We create the
long‑term roadmap for coordinated, sustainable growth and deliver effective
urban management systems that strengthen the city’s resilience, liveability and
economic vitality.
In this role, you will be an integral member of the City
Planning team, helping to prepare, manage, and implement Council’s Local
Infrastructure Contributions Plan and Planning Agreements ensuring growth
aligns with Council’s long-term strategic objectives and delivers meaningful
community outcomes and public benefits.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Provide expert advice on Infrastructure
Contribution Planning and Planning Agreements, including drafting and assessing
agreements under relevant legislation.
- Develop and review strategic infrastructure
strategies and Local Infrastructure Contribution Plans to support planning and
development outcomes.
- Review development applications to ensure
contributions are captured, allocated, and collected in line with regulatory
processes.
- Implement and manage systems and processes for
contributions tracking, auditing, and financial procedures to monitor
infrastructure delivery.
- Prepare key strategic planning documents,
masterplans, and policies, ensuring alignment with Council strategies and
quality built-form outcomes.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Understanding
and ability to prepare and implement and report on Infrastructure
Contributions Plans; Voluntary Planning Agreements and 10.7 Planning
Certificates
- Understanding
and ability to prepare and implement Strategic Land Use, Planning,
Development & Urban Management Strategies, Plans and Policies
- Understanding
and ability to prepare and implement Environmental Planning Instrument /
Local Environment Plan and Development Control Plans changes
- Understanding
and ability to implement project management processes to co-ordinate and
managing projects, including the management of consultants.
- Sound
knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 and
relevant planning legislation, practice notes, Ministerial Directions and
other relevant policy.
- Ability
to undertake stakeholder and community engagement
Key Requirements:
- Appropriate
tertiary qualifications, at degree level in Town Planning and working
experience as a Strategic Planner or equivalent
- Current
NSW Drivers Licence
- NSW
White Card / General Construction Induction card
- Willingness
to complete pre-employment screening which may include: a pre-employment
medical examination (including drug & alcohol testing) and National
Police check
- Current
NSW Class C Driver's License
