We are seeking an experienced and professional Community Development Officer with a passion for communities.
You will work collaboratively with key groups and agencies to develop and deliver community, cultural and creative programs and initiatives with the application of appropriate community development principles and practices. Portfolio areas may include arts and culture, CaLD communities, first nations, and community capacity building. Out of hours availability will occasionally be required.
In this role you will have the following accountabilities:
- Actively seek partnerships with community groups, service providers and community agencies to facilitate the provision of social services, artistic, and cultural activities in the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.
- Undertake appropriate community engagement processes to inform the delivery of community development and cultural initiatives, programs and projects relevant to the Shire demographics.
- Work with community members and organisations to support the development and delivery of community-led arts projects, including concept development, approvals and delivery.
- Administer Shire-led arts and culture projects and initiatives, including public art projects and creative programs in line with relevant Shire policies and strategies.
Our preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate the following experiences and skillset:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a Community Development, Arts and Culture or related position.
- Proven experience working on creative or arts projects within a community setting.
- High level interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work outside "normal" office hours.

A great salary is on offer up to $84,282.00 per annum depending on the experience you bring to the role.
