Systems Accountant to lead the system administration of Council’s TechnologyOne OneCouncil Property and Rating System, supporting both Revenue and Compliance. In this role, you’ll manage system security and day-to-day operations, oversee configuration, and deliver productivity gains and process efficiencies through practical system enhancements. You’ll also help enable informed, timely decision-making by leveraging TechnologyOne’s business intelligence tools. What this role looks like:
- Establish, maintain and govern system documentation, business rules, configuration standards and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, continuity and effective knowledge transfer.
- Manage, support and maintain system administration functions within the Property & Rates (PnR) suites, including security, user access, roles and permissions, in accordance with Council policies and segregation of duties principles.
- Manage, provide system related support to internal and external audits, including data extracts, control evidence and explanations of system processes and configurations.
- Act as the business owner of the Technology One PnR system from a financial governance perspective, partnering with IT to ensure changes do not adversely impact accounting outcomes.
- Develop, configure and maintain Design Studio artefacts, including dashboards, management reporting and customised enquiries, to support effective decision making and financial oversight.
- Drive continuous improvement in business practices through process re-engineering, system optimisation and adoption of TechnologyOne PnR product enhancements and upgrades.
- Manage ongoing maintenance, monitoring and seamless integration of PnR with other TechnologyOne core systems, ensuring data integrity and consistent financial outcomes.
What are we seeking from our Systems Accountant:
- 5+ years’ substantial experience in a Financial Accounting and Management Accounting
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance
- Member of CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants
- High level of organization, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, eye for detail and high level of accuracy
- Extensive knowledge and experience in reporting and analysis tools, i.e. Business Intelligency and XLOne, SQL queries, MS Excel, Workflow
- A thorough understanding and knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Regulations, Code of Accounting Practice and other legislation including inflation and other factors that affect the Economy.
