As an experienced driver, you value safety, reliability and providing excellent customer service. What we offer A part-time role, based on site in Mudgee, working 24 hours per week (each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) The salary range being offered for this part-time position is $1,510.48-$1,699.95 gross (pro-rata) per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $39,272.48-$44.198.90 gross (pro-rata) plus superannuation and allowance (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience). Key Accountabilities - Operate Council’s rear load collection truck to ensure all bins are emptied as per the collection roster.
- Ensure that all bins and the area around bins are clean and tidy.
- Ensure communications with all other staff (including those on rostered weekend work) prior to their
shift on the landfill to ensure work plans are explained.
- Carry out manual tasks as required and ensure that all work areas including trucks and plant are kept
in a safe, clean and tidy condition.
- To actively promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioural requirements of the
Workplace Environment Statement.
- Operate and maintain plant to complete routine waste collection tasks, under limited direction, both in
compliance with both Council Standards, Procedures and Policy and Environment Protection
Authority (EPA) requirements.
- Operate the waste collection trucks, water truck, sidearm, front lift, rear loader, sweeper, hook liftin a
safe and effective manner, knowing the limit of the trucks to ensure safe operation.
- Monitor waste stream collected and manage or report any issues relating to contamination in
accordance with council policy and EPA requirements
- Collect all waste in and around waste collection containers to ensure the area is left in a clean and
tidy condition.
- Ensure all material collected is transported and delivered/disposed of in accordance with regulatory
requirements.
- Drive with safety and be conversant with and observe transport regulations which apply to truck
operations, State Licence regulations and traffic laws.
- Report to senior staff, any infringements to Councils policies for landfill and transfer station
operations.
- Flexible, adaptable and responsive to change, demonstrating a willingness to do what is required to
deliver quality outcomes, within your skills, competencies and training.
- Proactively participant as a team player to contribute towards the achievement of team goals.
- Ensure works comply with quality systems including standard of works and environmental protection
issues.
- Operate L/F equipment such as bobcats, loaders, compactors safely and in accordance with Council
procedures.
