The First Nations Health Unit focuses on providing culturally appropriate healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This unit aims to improve health outcomes and access to healthcare for First Nations communities by offering tailored programs and support.
About the RoleThe First Nations Workforce Coordinator is a key role responsible for the recruitment, development, and coordination of the First Nations Workforce. This role involves collaborating closely with the Director of Aboriginal Health, as well as units and departments across the organisation to grow and develop the First Nations Workforce.
This role will lead the recruitment, selection and orientation for First Nations staff and work closely with hiring managers to identify workforce priorities. The coordinator will also develop new initiatives and training pathways to enhance the First Nations workforce capabilities.
Your duties will include:
- Develop and implement new initiatives and training pathways for the First Nations Workforce.
- Collaborate with hiring managers on the recruitment, selection, and orientation of First Nations staff.
- Support stakeholders with to develop the First Nations workforce in line with the organisational goals.
- Work collaboratively with hiring managers to identify workforce priorities.
- Support the Director Aboriginal Health and hiring managers to develop and maintain information and documentation systems to monitor the effectiveness of the First Nations workforce.
- Produce timely real time workforce data and reporting for the Director Aboriginal Health and other key stakeholders.
