About the Team
The Retail Performance Team play a crucial role in ensuring the achievement of our financial performance targets for the retail business. They are responsible for day-to-day analysis and execution of competitive offer delivery, ensuring that EnergyAustralia’s strategy is implemented in a competitive and profitable manner.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Product and Marketing, the Retail Performance Leader is accountable for executing our go-to-market strategy in a competitive and profitable manner, balancing short-term gross margin performance with long-term, sustainable customer growth. With a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and competitor activities, they manage in-market offers for all small market plans, ensuring quick responses to market dynamics while also planning forward calendars of activity (in collaboration with Marketing) to optimise market value. Other aspects of the role include:
- Own and drive a high-performance culture, fostering collaboration, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership
- Lead cross-functional performance forums, ensuring accountability across teams for plan delivery and ensuring transparent communication regarding shifting market trends and performance results
- Manage our retail revenue (gross margin) performance, ensuring action against strategic objectives in the context market activity and ensure accurate performance communication across the business
- Provide input into revenue and gross margin forecasts to support the business in managing performance effectively
- Effectively lead the team in alignment with the EA Ways of Working, driving delivery of business goals across the balanced scorecard
About You
To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in a similar leadership role. With strong planning and prioritisation skills, you’ll have the ability to undertake multiple concurrent projects and effectively manage competing business demands. Other things we’re keen on include:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent career experience
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team, creating a strong team culture of collaboration
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in implementation of continuous improvement initiatives – considering process, people, and culture
- Adaptable and proactive, ready to tackle challenges in a dynamic business, with a continuous improvement mindset
