This dynamic and exciting role is central to the delivery of various civil projects across the City of Rockingham. From procurement, execution and delivery through to completion, you will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality. You will have an understanding of the civil construction industry, its legislative framework and Australian Standards that apply to contracts, risk management and project management
With demonstrated experience in civil projects and contract management you will play a pivotal role in project delivery in line with the City’s policies, frameworks, industry best practice and codes. You should have excellent communication and time management skills, and a valid ‘C’ class Australian driver’s licence. Local Government experience preferred but not essential.
To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:
- Well-developed administrative and practical experience specifically in civil construction
- Demonstrated experience in managing contractors and liaising with consultants
- Experience with financial management of projects covering budgeting, cost control and reporting requirements
- Experience in the production of high quality tender documents such as project scopes, specifications, contracts and estimates
- Strong written and interpersonal skills, particularly verbal communication
- Strong consultation and negotiation skills with the ability to engage an array of internal and external stakeholders
- Competent in implementation of and reviewing Work Health and Safety practices and documentation
- Ability to understand relevant Acts, Regulations, local laws, policies and relevant codes
- Current ‘C’ class Australian driver’s licence
- Degree / Diploma or Trade qualification relevant to the position or project management
This position offers a gross salary of $118,966 (Incl Super) and:
- The option to co-contribute up to a further 5% superannuation
