An opportunity exists to join the Parks & Amenities Team Tumut.
Primary Purpose
Contribute to the operational needs of the council by carrying out works to maintain open spaces, facilities and amenities.
Key components of this position will include:
- Deliver multi-skilled labouring, cleaning, gardening and maintenance and repair assistance work to meet agreed service levels.
- Operate plant in an efficient and safe manner.
- Provide back up for garbage, recycling and street sweeper operations as required.
- Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity.

Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to carry out open spaces, facilities and amenities maintenance and repair work.
- Demonstrated ability to operate plant and equipment correctly and safely.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
- Class MR drivers’ licence.
Desirable Criteria
- Traffic Control Tickets – ‘Traffic Controller’ and ‘Implement Traffic Control Plans’.
- Chainsaw Ticket and/or operational competence for trim and crosscut.
- AQF3 Chemical accreditation.
Council does have flexible work arrangements and whereby there is a 9-day fortnight.

SALARY
Salary will be paid in accordance with the Snowy Valleys Council Salary System at Grade 3 which ranges from $2,265.40 per fortnight (gross) to $2,549.80 per fortnight (gross) dependent on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation and allowances.
