About the role
As a Sales Lead, you are passionate about providing strategic leadership to a team of account managers and sales specialists to identify and develop sales opportunities across the TBTC segment of assigned and unassigned SMB customers (portfolio’s). You leverage your exceptional knowledge of the ICT industry and Telstra’s products, services and solutions to ensure your team has the right level of skills, knowledge, activity, and customer engagement required to deliver on customer experience, sales, revenue and profitability targets. Your leadership, coaching and strategic sales skills are what make you successful in this role, and directly impact the growth of Telstra’s revenue.
This is a Full-Time onsite role based in 38A Douglas Street, Milton, Queensland.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of segment/portfolio specific sales strategies, including undertaking pipeline management and forecasting activities to achieve sales revenue growth, translating this into sales targets, productivity plans and roadmaps for the team to execute.
- Identify and build team capability development opportunities and provide guidance and coaching to direct reports. Develop sales and product capability across the sales team through training and coaching activities to build a high performing team environment.
- Identify staff risk and build succession planning into retention operating rhythm.
- Make decisions related to team planning across all functions, including prioritisation of the portfolio of customers and team member delegations in each quarter to ensure appropriate coverage and achieve customer and sales targets.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on the performance of sales across portfolio/segment, identifying and acting on risks/barriers to the achievement of outcomes (daily call volumes, pipeline cadence, targets, service and sales escalations) across the sales team including resolving service and sales escalations.
- Authentically engage and collaborate with team members and key stakeholders across the business (e.g. Territory Specialist, Technical Consultation Specialist, Subject Matter Experts etc) to identify and act on opportunities to grow sales (new and existing), boost productivity and develop innovative ways to improve business outcomes.
- Apply deep expertise in best practice sales methodology, Telstra’s suite of products, services and solutions, and knowledge of emerging market/technology trends to develop insights on the impact to both customer needs and sales approaches.
- Take an innovative and creative approach to identifying and recommending alternative business models (e.g. alliances, out-sourcing and in-sourcing strategies) for operations, to drive sales and increase productivity, with consideration to the benefits and risks of a range of potential recommendations.
- Significantly contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enable productivity, sales growth and develop strong customer relationships that position Telstra as the preferred provider.
- Contribute to establishing the annual business plan for the TBTC
