About the role
The role of a Project Officer is responsible for assisting the contracts manager in the planning and delivery of Council's maintenance contracts including, but not limited to RMCC Ordered Works, linemarking and guardrail that support maintenance service delivery within the Central Coast region, through the effective management in accordance with specified quality, cost and agreed timeframes.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
You will be responsible for:
- Planning, coordination and delivery of programs to ensure the effective and efficient utilisation of staff, contractors and resources to achieve high-quality, cost-effective outcomes, including delivery of project feasibility, estimates and investigation. May include periods of night works.
- Providing effective support and assistance to the Contracts Manager Program Delivery in the delivery of a range of organisational initiatives which relate to maintenance service delivery that could have a significant political and/or financial impact on the unit
- Effectively liaise with contractors including negotiating price variations and claims, evaluating time extensions, the mediation and resolution of conflicts, monitoring of compliance with project specifications and other day to day issues
- Conducting regular site inspections and testing to ensure that works carried out in compliance with work plans, technical specifications and relevant standards and/or legislation
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Diploma in Project Management or tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development
- Class C Driver’s Licence
- Construction Induction White card
- Traffic Controller RIISS000045 - Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan or willingness to obtain

Other important information
- The commencing salary for this position is up to $89.6K Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $107.7K on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation
- We have a temporary full-time role available
- This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
- We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite
- Quarterly Vehicle Allowance (Ref Award) is available
- This role is located at the Erina Works Depot.
