The Role
Reporting the Coordinator Open Space Operations, the Intermediate Plant Operator - Parks will undertake day-to-day duties
required in the Parks maintenance and construction program and will be
responsible for mowing and lawn maintenance, general labour, operating and
maintaining equipment and driving an MR truck.
About You
You will have knowledge and sound experience of horticulture and
gardening techniques. You will have the ability to work effectively as part of
a team but also be adaptable to work independently. You will be physically fit
in order to carry out the manual requirements of the role and you will have a
positive attitude and will be able to demonstrate your enthusiasm for
maintaining the Hawkesbury's outdoor spaces for our residents and community.
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in parks maintenance and
construction and/or landscaping/horticulture position
- Sound knowledge of plant and implement use,
maintenance and safety
- Operation of horticultural plant and equipment
including trucks, ride on mowers, small plant and pesticide spraying equipment
- Understanding of lawn maintenance and
improvements
- Experience with chainsaw use, maintenance and
safety
- Experience with irrigation systems, hard
landscaping and Weed Control ID
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work
as part of a team
- MR Licence
- The right to live and work in Australia
- WHS General Construction Work in NSW
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Successful applicants will be required to
undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
