Project Design Engineer

Join our growing Campbelltown LGA by working on the design of infrastructure projects where you will add value to our community and the region. This exciting new role will report to the Engineering and Traffic Management Coordinator giving you an opportunity to work collaboratively in a supportive team environment orking closely with and gaining exposure to specialist Open Space, Flood and Stormwater, Natural Areas, and Strategic Transport staff.

About the role:
Given the current development in the Campbelltown LGA, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering infrastructure-related design projects including detailed design, reviews and documentation for, but not limited to roads, stormwater and drainage, car parks, street lighting, footpaths, cycle ways, detailed quantity and cost estimation, traffic management, and public domain, open space. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
• A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications and/or, with extensive relevant experience.
• High level of proven innovative and sustainable design knowledge in all types of local government projects, particularly but not limited to the areas of roads, stormwater, footpaths, cycleway, street lighting, traffic, landscape, open space and general community projects.
• Proven ability to design all types of projects using AutoCAD (preferably civil 3D) and associated products.
• Current Class C drivers licence.
• Knowledge of development planning and environment issues beneficial.
• Possess analytical and creative practical problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates teamwork and leadership skills.
