Manningham City Council are currently seeking a skilled and
motivated Diesel Mechanic to conduct high‑quality servicing, maintenance and
repairs on a diverse fleet of vehicles, plant and equipment. From trucks and
tractors to mowers and small plant, no two days in this role look the same.

About the role
You’ll work in a well‑equipped council workshop alongside a
supportive team of Workshop Mechanics, contributing to a safe, efficient and
customer‑focused service for our organisation and the Manningham community.
You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work and have

Key Duties:
- Perform safe, effective and efficient mechanical
repairs, servicing and maintenance.
- Diagnose faults across a wide range of vehicles,
plant and equipment.
- Assist with fabrication and minor welding repairs.
- Conduct daily pre-start checks and report issues
promptly.
- Maintain
detailed records of each job including all parts and materials.
- Use workshop systems to complete work orders,
timesheets and parts bookings.
- Maintain workshop equipment and uphold strong
safety standards
- Build positive relationships with drivers,
operators and internal customers.
About you
You’re a trade-qualified mechanic with experience
across light and heavy vehicles, and ideally agricultural or construction
equipment. You take pride in your workmanship, communicate well, and enjoy
being part of a team that supports each other.
Key Requirements:
- Mechanical trade qualification
- Experience with trucks, machinery and late‑model vehicles
- Strong diagnostic skills, including use of scan tools
- Competence with small engines (2‑stroke & 4‑stroke)
- Experience
working with hydraulics preferred
- Current
Forklift licence
- Current
Victorian driver’s license (truck license preferred)
