Exhibition Support Officer
We are seeking casual Exhibition Officers to join our Maitland Regional Art Gallery team, to help with the preparation and deinstallation of artworks and exhibitions.

About the Role
Our Exhibition Officers work closely with our Curatorial team, in assisting with space preparation, exhibition installation and then deinstallation of a diverse range of artworks and exhibitions at the MRAG. The role is responsible for handling a range of art works, maintaining and mending gallery walls following exhibitions and the creation and assembly of basic fixtures and structures for a range of exhibits. There are also components in installation of technical equipment such as lighting and audio-visual components.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess contemporary industry knowledge, be a practical person with experience in general repairs, construction of small structures and supports and ideally, and you will have experience working in either an art gallery or museum.
You will be a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and who is committed to safe work practices, whilst conducting professional artwork handling procedures.
Whilst not essential, previous carpentry experience, experience with technical set up and relevant experience and licence operating an Elevated Work Platform would be highly regarded.
Benefits
We have several casual positions available working up to 35 hours per week, with a base rate of $34.69 - $38.50 per hour, based on experience + casual loading + shift allowances where applicable + 12% p.a. superannuation. The hours worked range from 9.00am - 6.00pm across Monday - Friday.
