What this role looks like:
• Assist with bushland maintenance including regeneration, bushcare, and bushfire mitigation activities
• Assist with maintenance of walking trails, fencing, gates, barriers and signage
• Carry out work within the Community Nursery including the maintenance and repair of facilities; propagation of selected plants; and general nursery maintenance
• Ensure the bushland maintenance and bushfire mitigation works are carried out in accordance with the Local Government Act and to the requirements of Government Authorities, including but not limited to the Environmental Protection Authority, Rural Fire Service, NSW Department of Planning and Environment, and the WorkCover Authority
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the wider community, customers and other stakeholders
• Provide support to volunteers by assisting in supervision, training, and education
• Raise public awareness of bushland issues and advise the public on environmental impact on bushland areas through either education or interpretative programs
• Conduct a daily maintenance check of plant and equipment and report issues
What are we seeking in our new team member:
• Bushland Regeneration Certificate or equivalent qualification
• NSW Class C Licence
• Working with Children check – or willingness to obtain
• White Card – General Construction Induction Licence – or willingness to obtain
