Strategy Officer to join our team. You will have prior experience working in a Strategy role along with the relevant qualifications and motivation to make a real difference. Experience within Local Government is not necessary but would be highly regarded. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a track record of continuous improvement and the ability to work collaboratively across the organisation.
Reporting to the Strategic Projects Manager, this position involves creating and implementing strategies that align with the Council’s vision and priorities. You'll work closely with different teams to ensure everyone is on the same page and that the strategies are effective. A big part of the job is helping with the Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) Framework to meet legal requirements. Your main tasks will include developing and updating strategies, managing multiple projects, and working with various stakeholders. You'll also be responsible for analysing data, researching best practices, and keeping an eye on global trends that might impact the local community.
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Business, Public Policy, Economics or Urban and Regional Planning or demonstrated equivalent work-related experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with diverse groups
- Proven experience in preparing and researching strategic plans, polices and / or projects
- Demonstrated strong research and problem-solving skills

Remuneration and Benefits
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per week
Salary (exclusive of super): Starting in the range of $87,269 to $97,681 depending on skills and experience
Performance based increase algined to exceeding goals available after 12 months.
