The Opportunity
Uralla Shire Council is offering a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to kickstart a career in civil construction through a two-year General Hand – Civil Traineeship. This hands-on role involves general labouring and plant operation duties across Council’s civil infrastructure projects. As part of the traineeship, you will undertake formal training to achieve a Certificate III in Civil Construction, gaining valuable skills and experience while contributing to meaningful community works.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will hold a current Australian driver’s licence and a General Construction Induction card and be physically capable of performing manual labour. They will demonstrate a genuine interest in civil construction, a willingness to learn and undertake formal study, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability. Literacy and numeracy skills, punctuality, and the ability to follow instructions are essential.

Salary is dependent on age as per Local Government (State) Award 2023 Traineeship wage rates.
