This position is classified as a PACS Band 7 ($91,667 - $100,522) under the City of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

As Kwinana continues to grow and evolve, we have a unique opportunity for a talented planner to join our dedicated team in the role of Strategic Planner (DCP). Reporting to the Manager Planning and Development, the successful candidate will work constructively and collaboratively with teams across the organisation on planning matters affecting the City to ensure a co-ordinated approach.
As our new Strategic Planner (DCP), you will take a lead role in the coordination of the City’s development contribution plans in collaboration with the City Finance, Engineering and Community Teams. This will include the coordination of Annual Reviews, Annual Reports, DCP Scheme Amendments, administering the DCP cross functional team and working groups and providing advice and support to the organisation in regard to DCP management and operations.

What You'll Need
To make an impact as our new Strategic Planner (DCP), you will need:
- Experience working within the local government, State Government, or private consultancy context.
- Sound knowledge of the Western Australian Planning framework, including legislation and policy.
- Working knowledge of developer contribution schemes and related legislation and policies is highly desirable.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, networking and negotiation skills with an ability to provide a high level of customer service and interpret plans to customers.
- Excellent computer literacy skills.
- Effective time management, organisational skills, and analytical skills to be able to address complex matters and issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Possession of a Drivers Licence.
- Tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent.
- Experience with PRINCE 2, GIS/ AUTOCAD or equivalent software is desirable.
