Are you passionate about protecting our natural environment and supporting community wellbeing? Camden Council is seeking a dedicated Natural Resources (Biosecurity) Officer to help safeguard our urban and natural spaces.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Natural Resource (Biosecurity) Officer with a strong focus on biosecurity to become a part of our team. You will bring with you an abundance of experience, and an eagerness to be part of a collaborative team focused on the protection and enhancement of the natural environment.
This exciting position will see the successful applicant develop and implement programs to satisfy Council's responsibilities as a Local Control Authority under the Biosecurity Act 2015, including facilitating the NSW Weeds Action Program. You will also contribute specialist advice to Council, external agencies and the community focusing on priority weeds and pest management.

Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent experience in Conservation and Land Management or Natural Resource Management
- Class C drivers licence
- Have obtained or have the ability to obtain and maintain Australian Qualification Framework Level 3 and 4 Chemical Accreditation and First Aid Certificate
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the legislative framework for natural resources, priority weeds and pest management including the Biosecurity Act 2015 and the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016
- Experience in the identification, management and control of priority weeds and other pests in both urban and rural environments.
- Project management skills, including organisation, budget and time management
- Demonstrated experience in preparing work specifications, service agreements and contractor management
- A strong customer service focus and ability to interact and consult with staff, contractors, volunteers and members of the community
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
