The Role
Reporting to the Manager Regulatory
Services and based in Windsor, NSW, this is an exciting position with an
opportunity to make a meaningful impact where it matters most – protecting public
health and shaping safe and thriving communities.
The primary purpose of this position
is to drive coordination, consistency and strong leadership across a broad
range of Environmental Health and Compliance operations. You will play a key
role in effectively leading your team through complex investigations and
providing expert advice through challenging situations.
About You
You will be dynamic and forward-thinking with experience
successfully leading and coordinating a team. With a strong background working
across Environmental Health and/ or Development and Environmental Compliance,
you bring valuable experience from a similar complex regulatory environment. You are confident in navigating legislation,
interpreting policy, and applying it in practical, outcome focused ways. You bring well-developed investigative skills, with experience handling
sensitive or complex matters and providing clear expert advice.
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Environmental
Science, Law (Local Government), Town Planning
- Experience with, and knowledge of, NSW legislation
including the Protection of the Environment Operations Act, Environmental
Planning and Assessment Act, Local Government Act, Food Act and Public Health
Act
- Demonstrated experience in environmental
health or development and environmental compliance
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and/or
projects and indertake improvements to processes and procedures to improve
service delivery
- The right to live and work in Australia
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Successful applicants will be required to
undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
Desirable Criteria
- Project Management qualification or demonstrated skills and experience
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate multiple activities and have flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment with competing priorities
- High level communication, conflict management, negotiation and engagement skills with a strong focus and commitment to quality customer service
