Development Contributions Officer
The Opportunity
Maitland is one of the fastest growing regional cities in NSW. Development contributions are essential to funding of infrastructure and facilities needed to support this growth.
As a key member of our Strategic Planning team, the Development Contributions Officer plays a vital role in delivering infrastructure by managing the assessment, monitoring, collection, administration, and expenditure of development contributions.
In this role, you will ensure compliance with Council's statutory obligations under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 (EPA Act), including the preparation of statutory reporting requirements related to development contributions.
You will also support the delivery of infrastructure and community outcomes by:
- Assessing the application of development contributions.
- Contributing to the preparation and management of Works in Kind and Voluntary Planning Agreements.
- Providing input into Council's strategic and infrastructure planning documents.
- Identifying opportunities for system improvements and responding to legislative changes.
You
To be successful in this role, you:
- Work effectively in a team environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Have experience working in local government, development, or a related industry, and demonstrate sound judgement based on evidence and adherence to established procedures and policies.
- Hold tertiary qualifications in town planning, accounting, business administration, or have equivalent contemporary experience and/or education/training.
Benefits
This is a permanent, full-time, position working 35 hours per week with a salary range of $84,236 up to $93,502 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 12% super.
