Camden Council in partnership with the NSW Government is offering a Natural Areas Apprentice as part of the 'Fresh start for Local Government Apprentices, Trainees and Cadets' Program.
SALARY: $25,064.00 - 43,024.00 pa + Super
Work Type: Temporary Full Time up to 3 years, commencing asap
Location: Parks Depot - 5 Millwood Avenue, Narellan 2567

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Opens Space and Sustainability branch in the role of Nursery Apprentice. This role offers the chance to gain valuable on-the-job training while completing a Certificate 3 in Nursery Operations. A great way to kick-start a successful career!
The successful candidate will support plant propagation, maintenance and health monitoring, while contributing to a safe, organised and customer-focused nursery environment.
It is important to note that the successful applicant must commit to the completion of their study at TAFE NSW in Richmond only

Essential:
- Ability to complete all TAFE requirements (Certificate 3 Nursery Operations)
- Highly motivated with a natural ability and keen interest in working with plants
- Enjoyment and ability to perform hands-on, practical work
- Strong ability to diagnose issues and find solutions
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with experienced horticulturists
- Commitment to workplace safety, with a demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and contribute to a safe and compliant working environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills along with effective interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to quality workmanship and maintaining a high standard of work
Desirable:
- Driver's Licence
- Previous work experience in relative field
