Are you passionate about communication, marketing, and design? Ready to earn while you learn and gain a nationally recognised qualification? Federation Council is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Trainee Marketing and Communication to join our team in Corowa!
This is a fantastic two-year term, full-time traineeship that provides a supportive, entry-level environment to gain invaluable on-the-job experience while completing a Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication.

About the role
You will be an essential part of the Communication and Engagement team, supporting key areas such as:
- Assist in drafting and editing a variety of time-sensitive materials, including newsletters, media releases, reports, and website/social media content.
- Learn design principles and software (like Creative Suite) to produce marketing collateral and assist with print production.
- Supporting the maintenance of digital platforms like the website and social media.
- Conducting foundational research and analysis of marketing trends.
- Support community activities, events, and communication programs to improve long-term engagement outcomes.
- Providing effective customer service and working collaboratively within a team.
- Actively participate in all formal vocational training sessions (RTO) to complete your Certificate IV qualification.
The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment. Trainee wages will apply.

Important eligibility information for traineeship and apprenticeships
To be eligible for this traineeship, you must be 15 years or older, no longer at school, and an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen.
Essential key criteria to be addressed in applications
- Minimum completion of year 11 or equivalent skills gained through previous work experience.
- Hold a current and valid class "C" driver's licence or Provisional licence.
- Demonstrated genuine interest in undertaking a Traineeship in Marketing and Communication with the dedication to complete the nationally recognised training qualification.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the confidence and ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to accurately complete forms, draft correspondence, and follow instructions precisely.
