About the role
The Casual Community & Culture Assistant supports the delivery of a wide range of community and cultural programs, projects, events, and initiatives that help foster a vibrant and engaged Woollahra community.
The Assistant works under supervision to provide support across areas such as community development, gallery operations, public art, venue hire, public programming, and general administration, playing an important part in assisting the department to deliver quality programs and services for the local community.
About you
You will be enthusiatic with a passion for all things Community & Culture. Your administration experience and engaging approach to Customer Service will see you thrive in this role. Experience in the delivery of events and programs and Gallery operations is well regarded.
Essential Criteria
- Experience in administration, community development or arts and culture.
- An enthusiastic and engaging approach to providing excellent customer service.
- Well-developed oral, interpersonal and written communication skills including social web/media knowledge.
- Demonstrated strong time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Currently hold or willing and able to obtain a valid Working with Children Check
Desirable Criteria
- Willingness to obtain a First Aid Certificate and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA).
- Experience in the delivery of events and programs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of technologies such as tablets, point of sale and digital displays and their application in order to operate digital displays, facilitate sales and provide digital support to visitors.
- Experience with booking software and database management systems.
- Experience in Gallery operations.
- Experience conducting social research and data analysis.
