This exciting permanent opportunity is available for an experienced and passionate specialist to proactively contribute to the strategic management of Camden's urban forests. This role will coordinate the development, and ongoing management, of the Urban Forest strategic framework including projects, policies, strategies, and procedures related to the management of the Urban Forest.
To be successful you will need appropriate qualifications and proven experience in development applications and customer requests for tree and vegetation removal and/or maintenance whilst maintaining a strong customer focus at all time.

Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture minimum AQF5 and an industry recognised tree risk qualification, TRAQ, QTRA, or VALID
- Demonstrated experience in assessing the suitability of vegetation management plans, tree removal or pruning applications, landscape plans and make recommendations skills in developing strategies, plans, policies
- Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of urban forest management issues and legislative framework
- Demonstrated experience in developing, promoting, implementing, evaluating and monitoring urban forest management projects
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation and implementation of contracts, work specifications and service agreements
- Demonstrated experience in relevant financial administration and budget control for grant funding, contracts and service agreements
- Experience in using GIS and Asset Management Software
Desirable:
- Demonstrated experience in compliance activities associated with the illegal removal of trees and / or vegetation.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate and motive others to work towards strategic outcomes
- Understanding of local government procedures and statutory requirements
- First Aid Certificate
