Willoughby City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced persons to be appointed as Independent Members of Council's Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (the Committee). - Expression of Interest No. E02-2025
Two memberships are available, commencing separately in:
• February 2026; and
• July 2026.
The memberships have become available through the planned rotation of existing members, including the appointment of a current Independent Member to the Independent Chair.
The Committee provides independent assurance to Council by monitoring, reviewing and providing advice about:
• External Audit;
• Internal Audit;
• Risk Management including Business Continuity, Insurance, Work Health and Safety, Cyber Security;
• Financial Management;
• Internal Controls;
• Compliance;
• Governance;
• Fraud and Corruption Prevention; and
• Business Improvement, Corporate Strategic Planning, and Performance Data.
Independent Members may be appointed for up to a four-year term and may be reappointed for a further term (with the total period of continuous membership not exceeding eight years).
The Committee meets at least four times a year in Council’s offices at Victor St, Chatswood and conducts an additional circular resolution (to consider Council’s draft Financial Statements).
Independent Members are paid $1,650 (GST inclusive) per meeting and circular resolution. This is a typical minimum of $8,250 (GST inclusive) per annum.
