About the role
We are seeking a highly enthusiastic Collection Services Officer to join the Woollahra Libraries team on a permanent part-time basis.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with a team of Library Collection Service Officers who are responsible for providing an inspiring and relevant collection that anticipates customer needs across our three beautiful libraries at Double Bay, Paddington and Watsons Bay.
Working closely with the broader Woollahra Libraries team, the role also supports library operations, by contributing specialist knowledge to uphold excellent customer service.
This is a 28 hour, Tuesday to Friday based at Double Bay, with some flexibility required as needed.
About you
You will be a passionate and enthusiastic team member who demonstrates a high level of customer service and has a can-do attitude. Ideally, you will have previous experience working in a similar role and will be confident with the use of a range of computer and technology systems.
You will be a high achiever with:
- Completion of Library Technician Diploma from TAFE or University Information Studies (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of library resource management, cataloguing tools and collection development principles.
- An enthusiastic and engaging approach to providing excellent customer service.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Competency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Well-developed knowledge and skills in technology with the ability to assist customers in the use of such technology.
- Demonstrated ability to work both as a team member and independently, with proven time management and organisational skills.
- Well developed oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to learning and continuous self-improvement as well as a positive approach to change, flexibility and adaptability in the work environment.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to EEO and WH&S principles.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake the physical requirements of the position as outlined in section eight (8) of the position description.
