The role
We are currently seeking a reliable and community-minded Street Cleaner to join our City Clean team. In this essential frontline role, you will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming public environment across our city. You will be responsible for litter removal, street sweeping, and ensuring cleanliness in our town centres, parks and public spaces.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
• Regular litter collection and street/pavement sweeping
• Cleaning public areas before, during and after events
• Graffiti and bill poster removal
• Safe disposal of rubbish, recycling and hazardous waste
• Operating cleaning equipment and minor maintenance checks
• Reporting damage, maintenance needs or public hazards
• Removing dead animals and addressing hygiene complaints
• Engaging with community members when required

You will have
• A current Class C Driver’s Licence
• A strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and perform minor maintenance
• Experience in outdoor work and a commitment to public safety
• Willingness to work early mornings, weekends or public holidays as required
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with the public respectfully
Desirable: First Aid certificate, Traffic Control certification, or an MR/HR licence.
The salary for this opportunity starts at $58,761 (Grade A, Step 1) plus AWCA2 allowance and 12% super.
