About the role
Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Tradesperson to join our Parks Maintenance team.
This role is central to keeping Ku-ring-gai’s parks, reserves and public open spaces safe, attractive and welcoming for the community.
Reporting to the Team Leader Open Space Maintenance, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Carry out trade-based maintenance works across parks, reserves, playgrounds and sporting facilities
- Small tree pruning and removal
- Planting, fertilising and weed control
- Turf maintenance including mowing, laying and edging
- Rubbish removal and litter pick up including storm damage clean up
- Operate and maintain plant, tools and equipment safely
- Ensure all works comply with WHS requirements, environmental standards and Council policies
- Provide a high level of customer service to the community and internal staff
Qualifications, skills & experience:
- Trade qualifications in Horticulture/Turf or relevant industry experience
- Experience in Horticultural maintenance
- Current NSW Class C Driver Licence or MR Licence
- Construction Induction (White Card)
- Traffic control certificates, Chainsaw accreditation and Chemcert certificate
- Ability to safely operate small plant and equipment
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic
