Drive your way into 2026 at RVCThe primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of service in the construction and maintenance of Council’s roads and drainage infrastructure in line with Council’s delivery and operational plans.
Key Accountabilities:
- Operate, service and maintain a truck and trailer combination in a safe and effective manner within the limits of the vehicle and in accordance with transport and licence regulations and traffic laws including the changing of wheels when required.
- Operate the vehicle in a safe and effective manner with combination trailers including but not limited to tipping dog trailers, extendable semi-trailer, semi-trailer side tipper and quad axle low loader.
- Load and unload the vehicle correctly and safely using dogging skills.
- Select appropriate haul routes, especially within Council’s area, with a view to safety, distance and minimising damage to Council pavements
- Use and maintain small plant and hand tools in a safe and effective manner
- Be conversant with, able to work with and comply with RMS Contract Administration requirements.

You have a sound understanding of how Work Health and Safety legislation is applied in the workplace and consistently operate vehicles and equipment in a safe and compliant manner. You take pride in delivering quality outcomes for staff and the community and are proactive in identifying hazards and improving work practices. You are flexible, adaptable and responsive to changing operational requirements and can work effectively both as part of a small team and autonomously.
We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:
- SafeWork Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
- Current Class HC Driver Licence
- SafeWork approved High Risk for Licence LF – Forklift
- SafeWork accredited certificate for Traffic Controller

Salary:Range from $61,885 to $71,167 pa + 12% super
