THE JOB
We are seeking an experienced regulatory officer or a person with transferable skills to join our team. This position will play a key role in maintaining safe and accessible public spaces by implementing and enforcing legislation and council policies relating to the management of a range of regulatory tasks including, but not limited to companion animals, livestock, noxious weeds, abandoned vehicles, illegal dumping, water restrictions and overgrown/unhealthy properties.
Council’s approach is to focus on prevention of issues through providing effective education to the public and promoting community safety and compliance however, the position does have a compliance and enforcement aspect requiring the ability to demonstrate resilience, empathy and professionalism when navigating challenging or unpredictable situations and have strong communication, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
The successful applicant will require written communication and competence in the use of software and technology to allow effective record keeping, documentation and completion of reports.

Snowy Valleys Council is a scenic and heritage rich local government area in the South-West Slopes region of New South Wales which spans 8959km

CONDITIONS
- Permanent, full-time position working 70 hours / fortnight
- Salary of $3053.20 - $3436.40 per fortnight based on qualifications skills and experience.
- 12% superannuation.
- Vehicle provided for work and limited commuter use.
