The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Council’s in NSW with the most culturally, socially and economically diverse communities in Sydney. We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents.
The role
We are looking for a community focused Customer Service Officer to Join CBCity. Be one of our main points of contact for all our community members service requests and transactions. You will be supporting the community both on the phone and through face-to-face assistance. Further providing information and coordinating actions across Council’s services and facilities.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- To deliver quality customer service and project a positive image of Council.
- Provide accurate information, resolve enquiries, and refer customers when needed.
- Act as the professional first point of contact across all customer channels.
- Handle a broad range of enquiries, challenging interactions and maintaining efficiency.
- Register, action, or escalate customer requests while supporting high service standards.
- Maintain professionalism, ongoing training, and promote a positive image of Council.

You will have
- Certificate III in Customer Contact or equivalent Customer Service experience
- Experience in managing customer relationships.
- Computer literacy skills.
- Knowledge of Local Government functions and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of Canterbury-Bankstown LGA, including geography, activities and services.
- Skills in a language other than English
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $71,820 (Grade D, Step 1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
