The opportunity
Start your day on the front foot! We have two great opportunities for experienced Cleaners to join our dedicated City Cleansing Team. If you enjoy early starts and take pride in maintaining community spaces, both our Attendant/Mobile Toilet Cleaner and Mobile Toilet Cleaner roles offer the chance to be part of a hardworking crew that keeps Council facilities clean, safe and running smoothly.
Attendant/Mobile Toilet Cleaner: Most of this role focuses on maintaining clean offices, lunchrooms, toilets and common areas and is currently located at our Central Depot, helping create a tidy and hygienic environment for depot staff. This role is also required to work every second weekend performing Mobile Toilet Cleaning duties as part of the broader team schedule.
This is a term contract full-time position until August 2027, with the possibility of extension or permanency. Salary from: $75, 662 up to $78, 929 per annum plus superannuation.
(Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)
Mobile Toilet Cleaner: This is an operational role working mostly on the road, starting 3am working a set roster of 11 days on & 3 days off to service 100+ public toilet facilities across the region using a set daily schedule.
This is a Permanent Full-Time position. Salary from : $75, 662.59 up to $78, 929.38 per annum plus superannuation. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)
Both roles suit someone reliable, physically capable and comfortable working independently, with early starts, weekend shifts, public holidays and overtime as part of a roster in a rotating team as per current operational needs.
What you will be doing
Attendant/Mobile Toilet Cleaner
Key Duties - Depot
- Cleaning offices, lunchrooms, toilets, change rooms, and common areas.
- Mopping, vacuuming, tidying workspaces, and emptying bins.
- Maintaining high hygiene standards across all depot amenities.
- Occasional grounds-type tasks using small motorised equipment (e.g., blowers, floor polishers).
- Interacting mainly with internal staff.
- You will also need to be able to perform duties outlined in the Mobile Toilet Cleaner Role - see below.
Roster & Hours
- The standard start is 6:30am.
- You work 11 days in a row-8 days as an Attendant and 3 days as a Mobile Toilet Cleaner-then you have 3 days off.
- When working the Mobile Toilet Cleaner component of the role you are required to start work at 3am.
- When operationally required you may need to cover shortages in the Mobile Toilet Cleaning team.
- You will be required to work every second weekend as part of your roster in the Mobile Toilet Cleaner team.
Mobile Toilet Cleaner
Key Duties - Mobile Toilet Cleaner
- Cleaning public toilet facilities across scheduled routes in a vehicle provided to carry out your work.
- Following daily run sheets.
- Being able to work independently to finish the assigned run.
- Using a digital device for: Work orders and Customer requests.
- Interact respectfully with members of the Public.
Roster & Hours
- The standard shift for a Mobile Toilet Cleaner is 3.00am to 11.15am
- You have a set roster of 11 days on & 3 days off.
- You are required to work every second weekend as part of that roster.
About You
- You have solid cleaning experience, ideally in industrial, commercial or residential settings.
- You're reliable, have a strong work ethic, and can work well in a small team when needed.
- You can work independently, manage your own workload, and adapt when plans change.
- You communicate well and deal calmly and respectfully with members of the public, even in difficult situations.
- You focus on working safely and can decide what needs to be done first to get the job finished each day.
- You're physically capable of bending, lifting, squatting, being on your feet for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the day.
- You're comfortable with very early starts and working in low‑light or quiet environments.
- You hold a valid driver's licence and can confidently drive and navigate around the local area using schedules or maps.
- You have a good understanding of digital tools such as tablets or mobile systems and willing to learn our systems.
- You're able to start and finish your shift at the Depot.
