Your New Role:

Kempsey Shire Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager with a background in civil or structural project management to join our Infrastructure Delivery team. This is your chance to work in a collaborative, community-focused environment where your technical skills will make a real difference.
As a Project Manager, you will lead and manage the delivery of key (capital/infrastructure) projects through the projects lifecycle to meet quality, cost, and time specifications.
Over the next three years, Council is undertaking a $100M+ capital works program of diverse and technically challenging projects to upgrade and replace community assets, including but not limited to:
- Bridge Construction Projects
- Slip Remediation Projects
- Road Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Projects
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of major and minor capital works projects from pre-design phase through to handover/commission as required by Council’s delivery plan and capital works program.

About You:
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- General Construction Induction Card
- Extensive civil works construction, contract management and/or building industry experience.
- Project management experience of complex projects from inception to delivery.
- Highly developed communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict and negotiate satisfactory outcomes within the context of project management.
- Proven technical, financial, project management and leadership skills relevant to the responsibilities of the position and a demonstrated commitment to customer service.
- Diploma in Project Management or extensive experience in Project Management (desirable)
- Certification in PRINCE2, or another recognised Project Management methodology (desirable)
- Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline (desirable)
- Traffic Controller (TCR), Implement Traffic Control Plans (IMP) and prepare a work zone traffic management plan (PWZ) or willing to obtain
