Your Role
Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:
- Monitor onsite sewage management systems and implement actions to ensure the satisfactory operation of these systems within the Local Government
- Carry out inspections of premises in which food is manufactured, prepared or sold and ensure appropriate follow-up action is
- Carry out inspections of premises where skin penetration activities are
- Assess and inspect caravan parks and camping grounds under the Local Government Act 1993 and issue Approval to Operate.
- Undertake public health education
- Undertake compliance work as directed, including assisting with other regulatory functions of the Section as
- Provide professional advice to management and customers in relation to matters relevant to the position.
- Assess, determine and provide advice on a wide range of applications including S68 and Development Application referrals. Assist in the development and implementation of Council’s best practices and procedures relevant to the management and regulation of environmental health.
- Investigate, monitor and resolve issues in relation to the management of the environment which include but are not limited to illegal dumping and pollution
- Assess and follow-up on environmental
- Assist with other duties as directed
About you
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Health or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work
- An excellent knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993, Public Health Act 2010, Food Act 2003, Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 and other relevant related
- A demonstrated ability to undertake onsite sewage management, food premises and other public health inspections.
- Construction Induction Card (White card) or willingness to obtain before commencement.
- A current class 'C' driver's

Salary from $79,554.80 - $93,952.56 per year + 12 % super, depending on skills, experience and qualifications. Grade 15 – 17 in accordance with Council's Salary System and the Local Government State Award
This position comes with a fully maintained Lease Back Vehicle available for private use.
